Warren was the first female "legman" for Chicago journalist Mike Royko and went on to a notable and varied career for the Chicago Daily News, Chicago Sun-Times, and Knight Ridder newspapers as well as the Tribune as a political correspondent, lifestyle columnist, and Chicago metro correspondent.
